Gourd Bowl with Gretchen Border

Description:
Today we will learn how to place holes in a gourd bowl to prepare for weaving the Gretchen Border. This will be a chance to learn how to weave this simple border. Everything is furnished except a towel. The cost of this workshop is $25.
Keepsake Gourd Pendant

Description:
You can create a personal keepsake pendant from a jewelry gourd cut to hold little treasures. The body of the gourd will be colored with inks and a clay edging will be applied around the opening. The inside can be decorated to taste before setting your little treasures in place and sealing with epoxy. Beads, glitter, flakes of metal foil and many other found items will be provided – or bring your own if you have something special you’d like to add.

Creating Clay Santa Heads

Description:
Learn how to create clay heads and faces out of clay. These beautifully crafted 3 dimensional heads or faces can be added to or done directly to gourds. You can use this technique to make objects from old world Santa’s to beautiful dolls. We will be crafting a 3 dimensional Santa head with acrylic eyes, which can be added to a body crafted from a gourd. Skill Level: All
Instructor Supply: Clay, acrylic eyes, pattern packet with easy to follow instructions, clay tool, dowel rod, and any additional supplies.

Dot Art Gourd

Description:
In this class students will create a decorative gourd using a dot art painting technique of the Aborigines. In Australia gourds have been used by the Aborigines for making rattles, drums and other musical instruments for centuries. This class is great for beginners.

Take I-64 toward Lexington. Merge onto I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) S via Exit 19 A. Take Exit 23 toward KY 155 Taylorsville. At the stop light , turn left onto Taylorsville Road. At the next stop light turn right onto Taylorsville Lake Road/Hwy 155. Continue on Hwy 155 into Taylorsville. When you get to the T in the road, turn right onto HWY 55/44. Continue to the red light. When you get to the red light, the Sanctuary Arts is right in front of you.

From Lexington:
Take I-64 toward Louisville Take Exit 32 toward Finchville. Continue on HWY 55 thru Finchville. At the stop light , turn left onto Taylorsville Road. Continue on on Hwy 55/155 into Taylorsville. When you get to the T in the road, turn right onto HWY 55/44. Continue to the red light. When you get to the red light, the Sanctuary Arts is right in front of you.
